He won Cincinnati battering Novak in the final and then was really disappointed to lose to Berdych. He's playing Shanghai when he could easily have withdrawn. I wouldn't say he's lost motivation.

Re: Federer : The Mother Of All Quests : 20 Slams And 100 Titles.

When Shanghai first appeared he thought "ooh, I can win this".

He was beaten by Denko.

Next time. Melzer. Last year upon realising he would have to face mugray who had just fed him a bagel he tanked.

Shanghai for Nadal is a nightmare

Murray wins Wimbledon 2016 after Djokovic is blue shelled by Querrey. Thanks Querrey!

I dont' know about this year but last year was quicker than previous year

just because Murray won the title against Ferrer, people keep on saying it was vey slow.

But for sure it's not as slow as Madrid.

For the end of year number 1 Fed really needs to make a great result in Shanghai because it's very likely that Djokovic will play Paris-Bercy and not Fed because Fed will play Basel and playing Bercy would mean playing three weeks in a row with the WTF in the end it's too much. Djokovic will not play the week before Paris-Bercy.

useless old guy

She's an Italian tennis writer and almost always has the correct info on Fed including the fact he'd play Shanghai several days ago. Roger sticking around after Rio seems amazing. I'd love if he vultured Auckland as well when he is a grandpa .

Federer losing motivation? The man is filled to the brim with motivation. His ego wouldn't allow anything less.

Right. And Djokovic isn't the same? 297 weeks and counting anyway.

warm regards...

6-2, 6-3, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-0 (and not even finals).

Re: Federer : The Mother Of All Quests : 20 Slams And 100 Titles.

nadal's unrestrained greed has led him to play the asian swing, when clearly, titles there will not add much to his career, and also, murray stands ready to demolish him

as i said earlier, the next title for old legs is in basel. has to vulture his home tournament

he won't reach 100 titles. if he reaches 85, that's more than good enough

85? 85??? Really?!?!

The chances that Sharapova, Azarenka, Radwanska and Wozniacki will all knock on my apartment's door tonight looking for something exciting to do, are bigger than Fed's chances of never reaching 85 titles.

yes, 85

this year has been an aberration. old legs isn't winning that many tournaments in the next few years

2-3 a year i reckon

Re: Federer : The Mother Of All Quests : 20 Slams And 100 Titles.

convincing counter argument

old legs has had a great year, no doubt, his best for at least 3 years, possibly 5 years

if he wins 5 titles (slam or no slam) next year, then that can be considered a great a year for someone his age

People never learn to stop predicting what Federer can't do. Waiting for someone to say he can't be the best player in the world at 32.
