You know American tennis is struggling when Canadians beat them in their own back yard.

Having said that, not a bad week from Harrison. One or two points go differently in the TB and the 2nd set becomes a different story.

Raonic's title to lose.

So let me get this straight...
A 19 year old American losing to a player ranked 60 places higher at a 250 on a court that is absolutely perfect for the higher ranked player's game says everything about the state of American tennis.
Got it. Solid MTF logic.

It certainly doesn't seem to affect him much.

Milos seems untouchable indoor; Ryan probably has a better chance of beating him in an uncontrolled environment. I'm just happy that Ryan was able to pick up some points despite playing horrendously all week (hopefully, I don't have to see this too often).

I like Milos by the way but... he and his injuries...
then why did you use them?

also, the first set was very even

Haha, why not aim your lame attempt at sarcasm at people who really hate American tennis.

That's why I responded how I did. There are plenty of posters here that love to go out of their way to criticize American tennis, but you're not one of them.

Why exactly? We already have Anderson, Ivo, and the serve bot King Isner.

And once upon a time an all serve player actually dominated tennis and rose to number 1 in the world. Andy Roddick. I thank the tennis Gods every day that that era is over. DOWN WITH THE SERVEBOTS

I think the opposite. He's not a very good player overall, but he has a lot of fire and that sometimes makes up for it. He's getting about as much out of his current talent level as he can. If he doesn't stop reverting to defense so often and learn to play more on top of the baseline he's never going to do a lot better than he's doing now.

156mphserve, I just have to commend you for not changing your sig all throughout the year, cuz it's still true. [ ranked 25 and rising ]

there was a time when i was worried he'd fall out of top 70, after having to defend all his early 2011 points.
