Re: Rotterdam SF: Federer def. Davydenko 4-6 6-3 6-4

Inspite of losing his chances to break at 3-4 in the 3rd and therefore the match it was a good week for Davydenko overall. It is the best tennis I watched on him on such a long time.

[B]My hall of fame: Roger Federer-Rafael Nadal-Jo Wilfried Tsonga-David Ferrer-Juan Carlos Ferrero-Tommy Haas- Radek Stepanek-Lleyton Hewitt-David Nalbandian-Guillermo Cañas-Carlos Moya-Pete Sampras-Petr Korda- Kent Carlsson-Richard Krajicek-Karol Kucera-Tim Henman-Alex Corretja-Thomas Muster-Michael Stich-Pat Cash-Patrick Rafter-Darren Cahill-Ivan Lendl-Mats Wilander-Miloslav Mecir-Karel Novacek-Joakim Nystrom-Henrik Sundstrom-Hans Simonsson-Anders Jarryd-Jimmy Connors-Bjorn Borg-Guillermo Vilas.

Re: Rotterdam SF: Federer def. Davydenko 4-6 6-3 6-4

Federer needs to play more defense and stay in the point longer if he is to beat Nadal and Nole. Great match. He made lesser errors in the 2nd and 3rd set. Great stuff from Davydenko too. Hope he can take some confidence from this and get back to his winning ways.

Davy playing really quite well actually, apart from a few obvious facepalm moments and a certain amount of choking.
He was actually really clutch on a lot of break points, saving something like 10 of 13, but no one will remember that
Hope he has a good season, although there won't be many more quasi-fast indoor courts like this where he can play his best.
Mr. Federer surely will remember. The first set was clearly ugly from Federer. The second and third, no.

After the first set, it was the best match of the tournament and both men were brave - Davydenko played superbly and with courage to save multiple break points in the multiple games in the 3rd set - there was no choke from Mr. Federer there. Mr. Federer served and played extremely well to save break points on his serve, especially when down 3-4 and love-40 in the third. Davydenko had 1 tight netted backhand in that game, but it was a single shot out of making many more under more pressure on his own serve. I don't call that a choke. For those that do, shame on you. Davydenko should be applauded for his overall bravery, not ridiculed.

Respectfully,

What a great win for Federer!! Happy to see him a close match. He seemed to play better as the match progressed. Davydenko played great tennis too and hopefully he will keep up this level for the rest of the year. Both players showed the rest of the tour how tennis should be played.

Good luck in the final Federer. He needs to be focused.

Davy was leading 4-3* 40-0 in the decider and he couldn't break... that was the turning point

only watched the third set. thought davy had it when he had those 3 BP. that missed easy backhand when federer was serving at 15-40, 3 games to 4 proved to be too expensive...
