Why Roger? He won it 6 times.

Sampras won it 7 times, as did Renshaw. Navratilova won it 9 times.

Renshaw wasn't open era , too traditional to name the court by the female player, Sampras never had that status, can you imagine even if Federer will be ranked outside of top 100 playing a Wimbledon match outside the two main courts like they put Pete in unfortunately his last match in Wimbledon . Fed maybe has the best arguments but this never gonna happen like we all know

Why is this joke of a thread still alive ?

"Poor is the man whose pleasures depend on the permission of another" .. Madonna

Drooling after Schuettler, Bolelli, Volandri, Starace (short haired version), ToJo, Tursunov, Alves, Petzschner, Simon, Qureshi, Steve Johnson

Because it's somewhat funny? That's actually more than you can say about all the other joke threads on here.

Prefer the "Alexander Popp Arena" personally. Wimbledon was his tennis life.

Name it after Goran Ivanisevic and call it a day.

It would be a nice gesture if they name Roehampton courts with Popp's name

After Barcelona's decision, this idea seems more plausible now

Re: Should the centre court at Wimbledon be called "Roger Federer Arena"?

Next proposal: That Kipling quote "if you can meet triumph and disaster and treat these imposters the same" inscribed above the entrance to Wimbledon's Centre Court should be replaced with "Well, you know, I've always been incredibly talented".

Re: Should the centre court at Wimbledon be called "Roger Federer Arena"?

On that score Rod Laver Arena should be renamed Novak Djokovic Arena as well , for the greatest AO player in the Open Era.

Vitez *Sir Novak Djokovic - King of the Asia-Pacific Region
Sorry to tell you that mate.

Re: Should the centre court at Wimbledon be called "Roger Federer Arena"?

Navratilova won Wimbledon 9 times so has the only naming rights argument.

Thankfully in typical British tradition, Centre Court will remain so forever.
