I think I know what is Fed trying to achieve . His goal is to lose all matches against dangerous opponents on minor tournaments to give them fake look for big stage occasions

Instead of 2-0 for Suisse it is 2-0 for USa really no words, great victory for John, but really no words for Roger, Isner played on his worst surface, and Roger has also indoor conditions what he prefers, there is no excuse to win only 1 set and lost 3 with Isner.

John has come a long way since his "all serve" days.

Still surprised that he could win a set over Roger 6-2 though. Roger must have stopped fighting.

LOL - Frauderer king of killing his bad matchups. He has no fight only finesse.
Still doesn't explain why he would play less than a week before his next tournament, he does have back issues.

They always think you have to win everything, it always needs to be a success story, and if it's not obviously what is the point. Maybe you have to go back and think, Why have I started playing tennis? Because I just like it. It's actually sort of a dream hobby that became somewhat of a job. Some people just don't get that ever."

because the Swiss press would crucify him if he said he wasn't coming after they worked so hard to get back in the World Group?? It would also send a message to the other players that he is weak and unsure; the opposite of what he says in his interviews (that he's fit, feels fantastic and confident; loves being on the tour, etc). Besides, why do you think he cares about Rotterdam all that much?

what are you ? how the fuck does Roger's defeat vindicate Stan? When the thrust of the argument against Stan is that his unreliability gives Roger - with a 41-12 DC win loss ratio - no room for error?

the real question is whether Fed's losing streak will beat his preceding winning streak.

Not totally expected in the grand scheme of this
Fed just a few months shy of the age when Sampras
Retired.
I think federer is headed that way with his game in
Massive decline.
Only maintaining his position in this era because it is weak.

Fed says he doesn't underestimate any opponent, and I believe that he even believes that. But, it's human nature to do so. He didn't think he was going to lose to Isner on clay and he got burned.
That's exactly what I thought when watching the match.
