DC R1: Karlovic def. Nishikori 6-4 6-4 6-3 (CRO 1-1 Japan)

Excellent match from Ivo, yes he was serving out of the tree. More importantly he was good from the ground by his standards and won without needing any tiebreaks.

Good to see the slice and net game working and carrying on his good start to the year.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

DC R1 (Japan vs Croatia): Dr. Ivo outclasses Nishikori 6:4 6:4 6:3

Free tennis lessons from Ivo, outplayed Kei in every department.

Hasnt faced a single BP, while being dangerous in almost every return game.

4 breaks in the end for a quick and comfortable victory.

DC 1R (Japan vs Croatia) -- Rubber 2: Karlovic def. Nishikori 6-4, 6-4, 6-3

What the hell . Nishikori was broken once in each set in the first two sets, then got broken twice including dropping his service game in the 3rd set to lose.

Dr. Ivo, good performance .

The tie is evened at 1-1.

All-serve player wins again. He was lucky he broke 4 times. Serve-bot. Bad for tennis.

The worst performance by Kei for ages. He jsut couldn't get into his rhythm in the face of Dr Ivo's big big serve. He's usually pretty good at dealing with big servers but looks like it wasn't his day today, and Karlovic remained calm and player really well.

Great win for Ivo, Croatia will advance to next round thanks to Ivo. BTW playing against Ivo on Decoturf-indoor is i think deadly combination, why dind´t Japanese choose some very slow HC instead of this fast.

This time I see the irony

Great performance, against a good returner like Nishikori.

It doesn't matter what surface they play Karlovic on, he can win or lose on anything, it's not like his level varies that much between the surfaces.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

This makes Tsonga's loss look even worse .

Karlovic is not your average serve bot

THis is right, but still fast HC and indoor conditions against Ivo are difficult to win for anyone, but probably they were counting that Kei will make 2 points for sure, and he is best at faster HC.
