Out of those 7bps, Monfils had something like three aces, 2 serve winners and one massive down the line backhand winner. One of the 2 serve winners wasn't quite unreturnable (still 200+km/h though), but the only real chance for Simon was the dropshot.

I really don't think the match was that bad, weird pavlovian reflex for everyone to decide this was shit, it really wasn't.

My bad I was too drained from the Monfils match either way Gael will be a force if he stays healthy and is probably the best clay-court player outside the Top 3.

Yeah, I'm surprised they haven't started calling it a pushfest yet, when they were both going for their shots and Simon even served and volleyed a bit.
