Nothing is 100%, but I believe he will...will he win it? Well, let me put it this way...if he doesn't, that's the end of the line for Murray as far as winning a grand slam goes. He won't be able to handle another grand slam final loss imo.

Novak Djokovic Rafael Nadal

David Ferrer - Leyton Hewitt - David Nalbandian - Marcos Baghdatis - Janko Tipsarevic - Tommy Haas

Re: Will Murray ever reach a Grand Slam final again?

I can see why there is a question mark over Murray reaching slam finals. Nadal is getting more consistent at the hardcourt slams. He's automatic at the US Open now. And he was extremely impressive this year at the AO. With Nadal controlling one half, and Djok controlling the other, Murray has very little to work with. Recently though, he's looked more impressive vs Djok than he's looked vs Nadal. In 2011, Nadal beat Murray at the US Open for the first time. The gap seems to be widening between Nadal-Murray. The gap seems to be closing between Djok-Murray.

You're right that the gap is widening between Nadal and Murray, but I also think it is widening between Djokovic and Murray.

With Nadal and Djokovic totally a lock for every grandslam semifinal at the very least, there is no way either of them are letting Murray through to the final at any slam, therefore I think Murray will never reach another slam final, let alone win a slam.

affirmative. either this year or next he may find himself in a final of a slam on hard courts.

That has no logic. Fine, Nadal won at US Open in four so they are 1-1 there, level at Aus Open 1-1 too. Murray beat Nadal from a set down in Tokyo final, Rafa winning FOUR points in final set. So, certainly on hard court it's not too bad. Murray took a set from Nadal on Grass for first time last year too, hell, he even had chances at French Open.

Last year Murray loses to Nole in three in Aus, this year in 5. And has a losing 7-4 Head to Head. It's hardly widening, regardless of you're obvious Murray distaste.

Yeah but does it mean anything? Nishikori beat Djok 6-0 in the 3rd set at Basel, and I think he allowed even less than 4 points. Nadal/Djok were shot from that US Open final I think, or unmotivated (except for when Nadal played Davis Cup final of course).
