Vina del Mar QF : Berlocq def. Delbonis 6-3 6-4

Didn't watch the match, which seems to have been quite disputed considering the stats.

But I wanted to mention that with this win, Berlocq will reach top-50 for the first time of his life on monday (provisionally number 49)

useless old guy

Viña del Mar QF: Berlocq def. Delbonis 6-3 6-4

Charly with the fine mullet, I think this is his first semi at ATP level. Here is a guy with not much ability at all, but pure doggedness having good results.

In his 1st round match with DGT his 1st set went 94 minutes, he took delBonis to school.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Saying berlocq has no ability is abit harsh. he has a nice backhand

Juan Martin Del Potro

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.

I respect Berlocq's determination and fighting ability look at him when he was getting smoked by Djokovic at the US Open, still refused to give in. Charly is very limited and getting everything out of his game.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Berlocq summoning his inner lower-pitch Azarenka and breezing through. Good for the game. Good for clay court tennis.

PS: Someone post that second serve against Roddick in Miami. Best tennis video clip in the last 2-3 years.

I don't know where I've been, but sadly I don't really know either of these players

I respect Charly for that too. BTW this is Berlocq`s 2nd SF on ATP tournaments (previous one was in Bucharest 2007 lost with Simon)

Berlocq is like a lesser-version of Montanes. No shots that can really trouble opponents (although I do remember Berlocq having a pretty nasty forehand in a match I saw and Montanes can get some sick angles on his groundstrokes), but his hard work and determination give him the results. I like players like that.
