I'd say the 2007 was the end of the previous era and 2008 began this one. Hence of the overall options I went with Soderling because of the shockwaves it sent and the way he played for four sets.
But I'd go with Gonzalez-Gasquet in the AO for overall enjoyment levels. I wouldn't have put Del Potro-Fed or Fed-Roddick anywhere near my top 10.
I was thinking some of the early round epics we've seen in some of the AO's the last few years, with Baghdatis and Hewitt and Nalbandian, etc. But I decided to go with slam finals instead.
I was also thinking to put Fognin-Montanes

A bit irrelevant now, no?
definition of era
1980-1989(best player borg)
1990-1999 is an era(best player sampras)
2000-2009 is an era(best player fed)
2010-2019 is another era(best player nole)
Borg was the best from from 1980-1989?
Nadal-Verdasco for me, much as it hurts me to say so.
In terms of pure quality, you gotta go with that one, but the final choke puts a bad taste in most's mouths.
