Looks like I was wrong as Fed is still making the same tactical errors as last year.
He cannot afford pulling trigger too late. Almost any puffball Nadal sends to his backhand basically resets the point to its beginning.

He may not be able to play Nadal, but we all know who's ultimately the greater player.

I'm re-watching the match now and paying close attention to Nadal's backhand. It's still nervous crap like it was last year, and if he doesn't hit it better in the final he's going to be in trouble.

I don't need any of your sympathy because I am in no condition to need any sympathy. Thanks, but no thanks.

I imagine that you should be torn between your love for Murray and your hatred for Nadal.

After all, I think that deep down in your deluded and bitter fanboy's heart, even you know that Nadal's chances of winning another AO are 10x greater if Murray takes out Djokovic (which he well might do).

There is a silver lining in Murray losing to Djokovic in the SF; there is absolutely none in his losing to Nadal in the final.

As much as I admire Roger as the best player of all times I must admit that his attitude, tennis and even his face change when he faces Nadal. While serving on the 2nd set at 2-5 his face showed his fair when he lost it 6-2. In the 3rd set he saved of losing his serve in the first game saving 3 break points with two unforced mistakes by Nadal. Then he broke at 4-3 with all the chances to win that set but lost his serve inmediately.

I mean this is not even the best Nadal (far away of that all the credit for him by reaching the final) but Roger is the same one when he faces Nadal (expect of a few situations).

I was glad to been able to watch one more time this historical Federer-Nadal clash though

Pretty terrible to be honest on further reflection, I think most people know he's the most talented player ever to play, but my god does he have a bird brain.

Re: AO 2012 SF: Nadal def Federer 6-7(5) 6-2 7-6(5) 6-4

First 5 games were some of the best tennis I've ever seen from Federer. Not a fan but I'm at a loss as to why he failed to repeat that form once in the rest of the match. Then again, it took a short while for Nadal to get into it. Similar scenario with Berdick.

Federer had 25 wins in a row coming into this, including 17 sets in a row. If he can't beat Nadal at a slam now, he never will again.

That strikes me as a fair assessment. If Fed wins another slam, he won't have faced Nadal across the net.
