Re: Tomic: "top 4 in a year"

I admire the guys aims and ambitions.

But he's seriously deluded and unrealistic. It takes many many years of experience and talent to get #4 in the world. He's no where near consistent enough, he has not won a Masters series, let alone a grand slam and never been close to beating Federer, Nadal, Djokovic or Murray. He's not even been close to beating anyone in the top 10. His coach needs to get a grip of this shit - that a lot of hard work is required to get there.

Fail. He already beat Soderling and Fish. One is top 5, other one is top 10.

No, i'm telling it how i see it.
Murray is also a brat in some sense (look how arrogant he is on the court, laughing at opponent's winners or blaming himself even when his opponent played too good) but look where he is now comparing to where he was 4 years ago.

99% of the time you shoehorn Gasquet into every post. Though I guess that is how you see everything.

Don't worry, the heavy loss to Federer was the beginning of a very steep learning curve, not just in tennis but in life.

Forget that i mentionned Gasquet and just concentrate on the point i was trying to make which was "in order to become a great tennis player, it's better to have a big ego and big ambitions than to be modest and not have any ambitions"

I know, i was mentionning his name as an example to illustrate my point that it's better to be arrogant and ambitious (even if you still have everything to prove) like Tomic is (subject of this thread, right?) than to be modest and to not have any ambitions.

I think the idea being that he should be beating them consistently.

Re: Tomic: "top 4 in a year"

This is regular crap in Tomic´s interviews. Everytime the boys opens his mouth, i dislike him even more.

It´s good to put pressure on yourself and Tomic has showed that he can handle the pressure, but the more you climb, the harder the fall will be. Hope he doesn´t crash and burn when faced with reality.

Re: Tomic: "top 4 in a year"

Haters gonna hate.

Stupid question from the journo, of course he's going to say it's a possibility if he continues to improve his game and gets stronger etc. Pretty tricky question for the young lad to answer, and that being said he's handled himself quite well in the media this past week.

His movement is not good enough although his game style is a pleasure to watch...at least for me.

Re: Tomic: "top 4 in a year"

Apparently that tennis lesson he got a few days ago wasn't yet enough.

Seriously though, the guy shows some proper youthful confidence. Whether it's justified, only time may tell.

Am I still alive? I'm still f*cking ... Here...!"
