bit of a struggle in the 2nd set, was down for most of it but when he broke for 4-4 machado just went away

If you saw the match you wouldn't ask this dumb questions. He didn't lost more than 7 games because he is one of the most consistent players on tour, and because Machado wasn't able to keep his 2nd set level for much longer. Any other player would probably lost more than 7 games today, against Rui.

Machado looked completely exhausted after giving away that second set lead. Ferru picked it up whenever necessary, very efficient.
