AO Q1: Serra def. Ginepri 7-6(2) 6-3

Not a good showing for Ginepri, losing against a washed up mug like Serra, still struggling with injury?

I was at the match.

First set both played well, then Ginepri played a terrible tiebreak. Rain arrived after that. When they came back, Ginepri played one bad game in the middle of the second set, and that was it. Serra was serving surprisingly well.

Ginepri didn't seem injured at all, and Serra was returning well.

That's good to hear.

It was his first match since the US Open, so hopefully he can squeeze out a last couple of seasons without injury before retiring.

No surprise. Serra had some practice in Noumea, Ginepri came here cold. Don't understand why he travelled to Australia.

He did play WC playoffs mid december though, so he had some matches after US Open...

I can't answer that because Robby normally loses Matches no matter who he plays
