Public secret . Federer's tariff isn't less than 1M US dollars , Nadal's is something like 300-500 thousands . But in Qatar and Dubai they are getting more . They were stories Fed got 1,5 M one year in Dubai

Every non GS and MS 1000 tournament paying appearance fees for seeded players

Roland Garros 2008 would answer that.

thanks, I wondered why Nadal drags himself to tournaments like Doha, and money makes logical explanation. If I were playing like sh**, I wouldn´t take single step from Mallorca. It doesn´t look good for AO

did you watch the match? besides his forehand being slightly off key and the serve not quite up to par, he was looking quite good. more focused and involved than in recent months, and his achilles heel, the backhand, was looking better than it has in a long time....

it looks pretty good considering this is the first match of the season and Philip at moments was hitting with some sublime form

<3 Roger Federer <3 David Ferrer <3 Juan Martin Del Potro <3 Ernest Gulbis <3

------------------------ <3 Richard Gasquet <3

It's my wet dream to see Kohlschreiber fall out of the top 100 this season.

What was the W/UE ratio of both?

He's usually struggled against Kohlschreiber, but I'll be surprised if Nadal ups his game before Indian Wells.

Expected result. Mugschreiber is a journeyman and can't trouble Nadal even when he's playing at 10%. Good practice match, Nadal is favorite for the title here easily.

Terrible from Rafa but he got through I suppose, and Kohli played surprisingly well at times.

Re: Doha R1: Nadal def. Kohlschreiber 6-3 6-7(2) 6-3

I thought this to be a pretty decent performance by Rafa, even though he obviously needs more improvement to become a genuine contender for the AO title.
Backhand especially worked really fine.

Yes, he lost a set to Kohlschreiber (who was playing amazingly during that second set, especially in the TB ), but such is nothing new. Even though Kohli is one of Rafa's pigeons (and near to becoming a turkey), I think he won a set in five of their eight matches, so surely not a walk-over opponent for Raf. Good practice for Rafa and perhaps just what he needed to start finding his rhythm.

I don't think these are actually recorded for ATP250 tournaments because I never seem to manage to find them. At least no official stats.
I'm not counting comments on fan blogs on this...

And Nadal! Wasn't he supposed to have shoulder problems?
He said before the match he was better and wasn't in pain anymore.

They do. Who knows how much... But if they get 1 million for an exo, I suspect it's more here.

There's a number of mandatory 250 and 500 tournaments... the organizers pay the top players so that they choose their tournaments.

Terrible?, I only saw the third set (from like 2-1) and he looked to be playing great.
