Re: Will there ever be another Wayne Arthurs again in our lifetime?

Lovely twisting service action and entertainingly wristy groundstrokes, I liked Wayno.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Arthur he does what he pleases
All of his life his master's toys
And deep in his heart
He's just he's just a boy
Livin' his life one day at a time
He's showing himself a really good time
He's laughin' about the way
They want him to be

I think I've seen the name, but I don't remember ever seeing him. But I must have and maybe just forgot

Re: Will there ever be another Wayne Arthurs again in our lifetime?

That groundstroke style is difficult to imitate, especially combined with that movement.

Someday we'll be asking whether there will ever be another Florian Mayer in our lifetime. The answer there would be 'hell no' in a stretched out teenage girls accent. Should appreciate the unique greatness of tennis players that aren't swimming in glory while they're still around.

So someone recently informed me that my sig was empty. Said I needed a life affirming motivational quote by a positive role model like Einstein or Oscar Wilde...

Here's a tip. Don't regret nothin'. You ain't got the time. Before you know it, you'll be 60 something years old giving free advice to some cheapskate runt... Then going home and regretting it.

Wayno what a guy, beating Roddick at RG was amusing.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

I can only think of Australian fans shouting: ''COME ON, WAYNE-O!''

That alone is enough to proof this should never happen again.
