Canada's Favourite Son: Not A Bad Week's Work

Volandri, Hrbaty and Karlovic have all been summarily dispatched by the man most certainly in his twilight years. Johansson came closer with a match point, but eh...choked at 5-1 up in the final set breaker. Had Safin achieved a similar feat in a week's worth of tennis, the accolades would have flown in, but we are talking about one of the most disliked players in the game today -Greg Rusedski.

Perhaps the issue is really one of Simon Larose or Greg Rusedski? Does the former even have a decent work ethic?

Maybe I'm slow (lack of sleep), but I don't understand this thread. Are you quoting an article?

Re: Canada's Favourite Son: Not A Bad Week's Work

I like Greg - he used to live nearby, just down the road from me, when I lived in Chelsea. He's always very friendly with everyone... Would bump into him at Safeway on the King's Road every now and then... Amazingly, with all that money, I wonder why he never shopped at M&S or Waitrose.

Don't know why people hate him, even though they've never met him?

Tim's the real Brit

I wonder why people don't complain about Lendl or Navratilova or Seles not being "real Americans"... At least Greg Rusedski has a British grandmother (and claimed citizenship through ancestry)

Gregs a real nice guy and has far more guts or determination than Tim ( not that I dislike Tim but just stating a fact). I dont understand the hatred for Greg, he really doesnt deserve it.

It's sad how Greg is Canadian only when he's winning. I know why people hate him but I personally like the guy. Win the title, man!
