It would be funny if Federer does the impossible and gets the number 2 ranking and then Nadal beats Dj in the Roland Garros and Wimbledon semis

Impossible? have you seen the current rankings? Rafa is only 900 points ahead of Federer. With so many points to defend over next 4-5 months, Rafa will have to work VERY hard to keep his #2 ranking. It is very likely that Roger will grab #2 ranking from Rafa, at least for a short while.

Novak Djokovic Rafael Nadal

David Ferrer - Leyton Hewitt - David Nalbandian - Marcos Baghdatis - Janko Tipsarevic - Tommy Haas

it's not a given that Nadal and DJoker would be in the same half and Nadal cant beat him

Congrats to Roger Federer on his 17th record breaking GS title and becoming the best player that ever played on grass and breaking number 1 record. You deserve it Roger

Oh yeah I've seen the current rankings. I'm quite happy with Nadal's situation, big gains at Madrid/Rome

Big gains? he's got to win both of those events to gain any points

Exactly my point. Even if Dj makes the final of Madrid/Rome, Nadal can bridge the gap by a combined 1600 points. 800 point swing at each. Huge gains in the bid for top ranking

If that is your reasoning than Nadal has "huge gains" for the rest of the year considering that he lost Madrid/Rome/Wimbledon/USO in finals to Nole (and on top of all that he has to defend Monte Carlo and French Open). What makes you so sure that Rafa is going to make finals of all those tournaments? Plus Nole is playing Monte Carlo, which he didn't last year, so he has a chance to even further distance himself from Nadal in the rankings.

nole taking out nadal at RG and federer winning RG would be a perect scenario

a 2nd rg would be just lovely

God is Love. To know Love is to know God. So ask yourself if you hold any hate for another in your heart how can you have room for Love, room for God

Trying to decipher this wonderful logic in good faith can only lead to a headache. I choose to call it a pile of bull crap instead.

it's not that likely : after Wimbledon there's a correct chance, but for the seedings in Roland-Garros and Wimbledon it's quite unlikely considering what Nadal has constantly done on clay since 2005 and that Fed will probably not play Monte-Carlo and Barcelona.

It's enough for Nadal grabbing 900 points from Fed before Roland-Garros, and then for Wimbledon seedings, he will get 2070 points more than Fed thanks to the specific rules to Wimbledon, then it's also unlikely that Fed gets number 2 seed in Wimbledon.

But later for the Olympics and the US Open the possibility is higher of course, esp. if Fed does well in Wimbledon, and later in the Olympics and the US Open.

Agree. Two Career Slams would make Federer the undisputed GOAT.

Imagine him doing it with Darth Federer outfit.

If Nole wins French Open and the non calendar grand slam , then that disqualifies both Federer and Nadal from any
talk of GOAT. If Rafa wins the most titles at French Open , then he disqualifies Federer. This is the most important tournament this year by far.

About the tournaments I listed - I didn't say he would win them. Maybe he will win some, but generaly a lot of fast courts..
