CTF: Stebe def. Machado 7-5 6-0

Beat Bachinger, crushed Sela and now he's out

Machado needed a set to be sure of qualifying but he couldn't do it

Re: CTF: Stebe def. Machado 7-5 6-0

Stebe played a very good match while Machado... well he just isn't that consistent on HC and I still think the result yesterday has more to do with Sela being horrendous than Machado being outstanding.
Now we'll probably see a German semi, Stebe vs Beck.

Btw, for those who are interested in the final group standings:

1. Sela - 2/1 Matches Won- 4/2 Sets Won
2. Stebe - 2/1 Matches Won - 4/4 Sets Won - 37/32 Games Won
3. Machado - 2/1 Matches Won - 4/4 Sets Won - 33/33 Games Won
4. Bachinger - 0/3 Matches Won - 2/6 Sets Won

19.

The appropriate tennis result. Great win for Cedrik. Regardless of what happens tomorrow, this week has to be seen as a big success for him.

Machado only needed to win 3 games in that second set in order to qualify for the semifinal. And he got bageled. What a mug...

did Machado know exactly what he needed?

Didn't seem to fight very hard.

Amazing he is out after the first 2 wins

Machado has never struck me as being particularly intelligent and I don't think he had done the math here. As mentioned above, he needed another three games to qualify and instead of fighting, he tanked after missing breakpoints at 5-7 0-2. Pretty strong contender for mug of the year if you ask me.

And it's not like he didn't care about the tournament, he fought hard in his first two matches...

Re: CTF: Stebe def. Machado 7-5 6-0

Machado had to be seriously fatigued or hurt -HAD TO BE - or just really stupid and really thought he was already in the semis

Supposedly he had to BEAT STEBE! Because at 2-1 it would have come down to head to head which means Stebe
