Wrote this elsewhere but thought i'd share it:
Here's my commentary of the draw:
12:30 - Thought i'd post on here as i'm listening to it live on the radio. It's being aired in the middle of a newsy discussion type show, been listening for 10 minutes and they've not even mentioned it yet.
12:32 - Still waiting, they're talking about midwives!
12:34 - They've just crossed over to UK parliament to hear someone answering some parliamentary question or something. Normally i'm into politics, but now i'm just getting annoyed because I want tennis.
12:35 - Presenter now explaining the implications of the answer to said question.
12:36 - Now they're back to parliament.
12:37 - So I checked twitter:
Draw will be slightly delayed due to an important question in the House of Commons - that's the way we roll at 5 Live, no rules!!
12:39 - Still no sign of the draw. Things hotting up in parliament though. Now going to the news, still no mention of the draw.
12:42 - Sports man says the draw is imminent
12:43 - Shelagh Fogarty, presenting the radio show, takes the opportunity to read out some more texts and tweets about midwives before going over to what she refers to as "that tennis draw".
12:44 - Finally over to Jonathan Overend, the excellent BBC Tennis correspondent. He speaks with such passion, only thirty seconds in and you can sense his excitement about the upcoming tournament.
12:45 - All players apparently fit and raring to go. Djokovic apparently already in London. Now playing a clip from Federer, who says everybody can beat everybody. He points to the del Potro vs Davydenko final to justify his claim.
12:51 - Apparently there's to be over 250,000 spectators at this event!
(the draw happened too quickly for me to be able to write about it as it happened)
