You cannot teach speed. If you're born slow, you'll always be slow. To the non-athletes amongst us, that might not be apparent. Court quickness and overall speed will always be a weakness for Tomic. That said, he could improve his footwork, which would help his movement, reaction, and anticipation a little bit.
Any top 50 guy can trouble an elite player on a given day. That's a prerequisite for being top 50. But to win a GS you have to dominate good players back to back to back. I can see him winning a few big matches. But plenty of guys will also give him trouble. To dominate you can either outgun opponents with huge serve and groundies or return everything like a wall. Tomic is a master of neither. So I just can't see him winning any slams.
