Re: Tsonga: "winning against djokovic means less than winning against Federer or Nada

I was just reading about a 20 year old guy in the uk who speaks 11 languages... Then I closed the tab and my browser switched to this thread...

I think I need to reconsider what I'm doing with my life...

Re: Tsonga: "winning against djokovic means less than winning against Federer or Nada

Much ado about diddly squat.

Tsonga didn't say anything whatsoever that can be considered a negative attack on Djokovic. Not one thing. And no, there is no way it can be misinterpreted despite the transparent spin (lying by omission) put on by the thread's OP.

So the only thing this thread indicates is that there is an abundant amount of low IQ level and illiteracy among noletards.

shoot. I forgot about W. my bad. still he wasn't able to back it up and he lost to Djokovic in semis. Tsonga is capable of playing a great match but at the end he always bumps into someone who is better than him...

you know what, I actually couldn't care less what Tsonga thinks.

How could you forget the most important Wimbledon match ever concerning Nole's career? You know, Tsonga upsetting the only player that would have beaten Nole at Wimbledon 2011. The moment Tsonga beat Federer, Nole was crowned Wimbledon champ. Tsonga is unable to beat two top 4 players back to back at slams. Which is why it wll be almost impossible for him to win a slam. This year will be tougher for Nole to win Wimbledon.

Re: Tsonga: "winning against djokovic means less than winning against Federer or Nada

Well, the '10 match at the Aussie Open it was clearly visible on TV that Djokovic was struggling with food poisoning and after going up 2-1 in sets, he went to the washroom to puke his guts out. From there it was all over for him. As for the other wins, definitely not a hurt or tired Djokovic, just a better Tsonga. No excuses there, but Djokovic's "I won a grand slam, so bend over for me now" attitude is to blame.

Albeit of all these matches, despite Tsonga's h2h lead, if I could choose I'd much rather have the two wins on Djokovic's end - AO final, and Wimbledon semis.

This thread is from 2011 but even after six years in which Djokovic went on to win everything, including four slams in a row, you feel he still doesn't quite have Fedal's aura.

Maybe it's just something you're born with.

Just like how Novak vultured Doha and Eastbourne this year?

I am loving 2017 so far. And that's an understatement.

Re: Tsonga: "winning against djokovic means less than winning against Federer or Nada

Tsonga is right/ at the moment Djokovic has achieved a lot but not as much as Fed and Nadal in slam department.
1)He is not NAdal on Clay or Federer on grass.
2)He has not a sexy/unique playing style like Rafa or Roger and is quite boring like Murray to watch
3)He came on the scene after Rafa and Roger who people got used to
4)His family, team and box was not as sympathic as Roger's or Rafa's one, with his mother saying about Roger: "The king is dead" or stupid statements with his paranoiac father Srdan saying Rafa and Roger are not beautiful people inside, insisting Roger was not having right attitude toward his son in a davis cup match when he had difficulties to breath correctly.
5)Djokovic simulated fake injuries by taking inappropriate MTO early in his career
6)The way he celebrated wins in bad-tempered way , ripping his shirts is too much
7) the ball boy hugs is not natural or spontaneous. His willingness to draw attention like a 7 year old kid irritates lots of people.

i may have forgotten a few reasons but when you add everything it's too much deficit to overcome
Tsonga 100% spot on

i wouldn't say he vultured Doha despite match points lost by Fiasco in SF. He had his hands full in final during 3 hours vs good mugray.

In Eastbourne, Seagulls were his toughest opponents not to lose his focus. He played a tired or injured Monfils in final and played mugs all week long. He clearly vultured in Eastbourne, but ATP 250 is usually a synonym for vulturing

Re: Tsonga: "winning against djokovic means less than winning against Federer or Nada

"He came on the scene after Rafa and Roger who people got used to" - I think this is the key to all of that. It was their show, they were marketed as direct opponents and 1 on 1 war. Sampras vs. Agassi sold so well for this reason as well.

It was a "saint war" even in these times when Rafa was spanking Federer literally everywhere and had like 20-0 h2h for that period.

This aura is there because of a creation. It's like you watch the TV show and the characters from season 1 are always main and even great characters that show up in season 3 are never considered as the franchise defining ones. And this is the tennis show for our generation.
