Frenchmen in 2012 - Who would be the French no1 in November 2012

2007 finished with one top 10 player, Richard Gasquet.
At that momentt he was called Baby-Roger and he was the big future of tennis, while waiting for Gael Monfils the "Junior King".

2008 was the best french year of the last 5.
Tsonga rising, AO final, ranked 6 in the world, Paris-Bercy finally in a frenchman hands.
Also Simon made an excellent run, number 7 in the world, beating Federer 2 times and reaching SF in YEC.

2009, no frenchies in the WTF, Tsonga lowering his level, but he still managed to end the year as a top 10 and to win some titles. Gael Monfils reaching the final of Paris, but he couldn't win vs Novak.

2010, the decline. No frenchmen in top 10 at november.
Nothing. Tsonga injured, Monfils, Gasquet and Simon with good performances but no big runs (except Monfils losing Paris-Bercy final again).

2011, Tsonga rises from the ashes.
SF at Wim, final in Paris, 2 titles. Number 6 again.
Monfils was top 10 for a while, Gasquet had a really good first half, and Simon also won 2 titles.

What would happen in 2012? Who will be the French no1?
What do you think?

I think Tsonga could reach a new career-high and, maybe this is the time for him to win a GS.
Gasquet needs to reach his good form again, he can do it.
Monfils... A total mistery.

What do you think?

The biggest potenital from French player has Monfils. His move is fantastic, has a very soldi serve, is capable to be successful on all sourfaces. But he is struggling for years, for last 3 r 4 years he did´nt move forward, he is passive a has weak backhand. He have to train a find new coach to raise hsi game. Tsonga can be dangerous on fast courts, but he´s missing something to be successful on clay a and to compeet with top 4 players. Gasquet and Simon aren´t top 10 players really.

Either Tsonga or Monfils. I am leaning towards Tsonga, but that would be dependent upon their respective injury situations.

20112 french players will finish like this:

1. tsonga
2. simon
3. monfils
3. gasquet

possible that 3 of them will be in the top 10 at some point but more than likely only tsonga will finish there

Its between tsonga and monfils, simon can be very good but he can't keep consistant. Monfils had good runs this years aswell, that run in hamburg and in the early months of the year. Big oaf tsonga is tsonga, he's a mixed bag but always able to spring an upset. I have a feeling monfils will have a strong year though, he's looked like he's about to make a break threw some time soon.
