Another 30-year-old at his peak position: Feliciano Lopez broke into the world's Top 20 for the first time this week.

His previous highest ranking was 21. :D

Welcome to the Top 20! :worship:

An achievement nonetheless. Back in 2005 he was in his theoretical prime. Plus he's a good chance to go above 20th before the end of the year. Lopez has the kind of game that will serve him well in his early 30s.

Good job catman.

shame about bad post Wimbledon period - he was predestinated to win Kitzbuehel or Gstaad

There was some guy many years back who said that Lopez has the potential to win Wimbledon or something. I don't get what he saw in Lopez to say such a thing? The only thing that pops to mind, is his serving ability and his SV game in general. However, his backhand, was nearly absent. All he could do with it was slice and he was bad at that, but good enough to upset Roddick which shows how pathetic Roddick is. However, this year, I heard he's reduced the slicing, and now he's trying to actually implement a true 1 handed backhand.

Feli has improved a lot since he dropped his old coach and hired Beresutegui. It's honestly somewhat hilarious that a guy whose game is most suited to grass and faster courts is being coached by a former clay specialist who played something like two grass matches his entire career.

Well, whatever Alberto B is doing for Feli, it's working. Congrats Feli :D :hatoff:

Yungos is making the point that Lopez is a fantastic claycourter. Yungos just said that Lopez played out one of the matches of the year in Madrid against Roger Federer. Yungos notes that the match featured three tie-breakers
