Vienna FQR : Bedene def. Gimeno-Traver 6-4 7-6 (4)

Excellent result for Aljaz.

Both guys served quite well, but Bedene took his chances hope he can win a match in the MD.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Huh great result for our Slovenian hope!
I hope he gets Chela or maybe Tsonga It would be a great experience for him to play a TOP10 guy! And he could suprise Chela on this extra fast surface. Although I don't know if the central court is so fast too.

Re: Vienna FQR : Bedene def. Gimeno-Traver 6-4 7-6 (4)

Only 1 break point in the match and he took it. DGT served a double, missed an easy volley in the TB.

Bedene was serving very well, attacked at the right times as well. He is based in Austria these days, hope DGT gets in as a LL.

The commentator couldn't pronounce his name, it's not that hard.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Oliver Marach said the Centre Court is faster then this smaller court.

Federer |Söderling |most of the Germans

I also like: Wawrinka | Tsonga | Dimitrov | Isner | Gulbis |

Warm regards: 6-3 6-0 / 6-3 6-4

First time i've seen bedene, was very impressed on serve

Juan Martin Del Potro

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.

Re: Vienna FQR : Bedene def. Gimeno-Traver 6-4 7-6 (4)

Bedene has had a lot of injury problems already, needs to ensure he can get fitter, stronger and durable. If he does that then the results will look after themselves.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Expected stuff. When Filo says a player sucks, it means immediately that player has a solid future. Saw Bedene a couple of times, great rise in rankings and solid showing in CH events. TOP100 easy stuff for the mighty Slovenian...

Alla ricerca di un piccolo grande amore....

Re: Vienna FQR : Bedene def. Gimeno-Traver 6-4 7-6 (4)

Aljaž started the year at the 540 and if he wins a match here plus the 12 points he gets for qualies. He'll be well inside top 200 no more futures for him.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Never said Bedene sucks, I said I don't see anything special in his game and I think he's overrated on this forum.

With that said, he's improved his game quite a bit. I still don't think he's going to be as good as a lot of you believe, though. But he can make a career of tennis for sure. Too bad Daniel lost here.
