Shanghai R2: WWW Young vs. Wawrinka

Discuss this US Open rematch. Even though Donald won the only meeting, Wawrinka's still the favorite and higher ranked player. I wouldn't be surprised if Stan gets his revenge, but if Donald wants a better chance at a seed at the Australian Open, then these are the matches he has to win (live underdog). As of now he is on track to get it at the French Open.

Donald knows Deathray will be waiting in the next round, so he'll probably withdraw from this match.

Well all the pressure to win is squarely on wawrinka's shoulders. From now till the US Open nxt year it's all icing on the cake for the Don.

Stan should get his revenge here. He had the match in his grasp in that 5th set at the US.

Already? Stan in 2. He's going to show us that the USO was an epic choke.

It won't be all icing on the cake for Donald. He needs to prove he belongs in the top 40, which means he has to do a lot better than beating Gong or Soeda or players like them.

I think he'll be in the Top 40 in the next rankings win or lose.

This to me is exactly like the US Open Murray rematch, except that he beat Stan in a slam unlike 'only' IW for Murray. GS wins over a player carry much more weight than Masters wins so using that logic a Wawa win here won't kill Don's confidence unless it's a lopsided score

Would not be surprised if Young takes it in 2. Mugwinka has been awful lately even when NOT playing against his Swiss Master.

I wonder where the stream is as it doesn't show. I don't want to wake at 5AM and find it's not streaming
