He's a mysterious player that even has won entire tournaments playing with fever. He doesn't need to move much with his game so whenever he comes back from mono he will be rusty but you never really know as the true potential will be sky-high as always.
ye his latest tournament in Bastad was a real 1 man show... damn i miss him from the tour so much. the swedish media is so quiet about him tho he is after Zlatan Ibrahimovic the most followed athlete in sweden.

for the sake of Tennis, i hope he will turn around the tour once again and make upsets on the top 4.

Miss him so much too Hasn't been the same without him, just feels like 2010 all over again for me as that year Del Potro was gone.

But yeah, when he came back and played Bastad this year that was some scary stuff! He was simply unplayable to say the least!

True. But no one can take that great victory away from him

First of all the time it takes is completely individual (20 days is way below average), secondly "going back to work" is a tad different if you are a tennis pro and not an office worker.

no. I think precious Robin has more things eating at his soul. Like the soulwitches that now make his tennis playing bad

I have never had it, but a friend of mine did and it took her two years to get over it! And she was younger than Robin and not a Pro Tennis Player! Mono can be mild or it can be serious and long lasting. I believe Roddick and Federer had a brief bout of it in the past. I'm sure Roddick did, but he was almost recovered before he knew what was causing him to be so tired.

No I'm not but a sportsman should have a much better fitness than me...if It took me 15 days to go back to work a sportsman should recover within 1 or 2 months so I guess it's not mono who stops Robin to go back to tennis but his wirst problem. He hasn't played since Bastad, mono is far behind him now, believe me or maybe it's another illness which bothers him ?? I can swear than my body is not stronger than Robin's one so mono should be nothing serious for him. It's really strange that he vanished in the air after Bastad, hope he has no personnal problems

nothing. I have kind of been feeling like robin might begin to spiral down for a while. I think the injury is what will begin it all

im not saying he'll drop off the faces of the planet

Re: Your Expectations for Robin Söderling in 2012?

Good news. Hopefully he will start AO. Not perfect with a 5 sets in the hated heat coming back from severe sickness but maybe he can bribe the organizers to give him evening sessions.

An elite athelete doesn't have a stronger immune system than a non-athelete. In fact it's often weaker. It's even more visible in pure endurance sports but a tennis pro practices a lot too and that makes them vulnerable.

You could argue that from injury they will recover faster. But from sickness they will often recover slower. Fitness doesn't help really. Or do you think you battle mono with stamina and muscles? Then us normal people would have it for a year and Robin would be back in a week.

In fact many people get so weak symptoms from mono that they never even knew they had it. Others are in bed for weeks. Impossible to say something like 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 2 months. Every case is individual.
