I knew you'd to be the 1st to criticise.

I take your point about IW/Miami though. I guess they have to be in March. Maybe scrap IW and have Cincy or Canada in August instead. Keep Miami in March maybe.

Re: This should be the ATP calendar

With all my respect towards Hamburg citizens, in my opinion Hamburg doesn't deserve a TMS , because it's the saddest TMS with a lot of difference .

Reasons :

1) Horrible weather, rain and cold
2) Crowd very cold and passive , with not much attendance .
3) Very little respect towards tennis ( a lot of times players are playing on center court and it sounds music that comes from the village zone )

From what I know, it is not only hurricane season, it is also extremely hot, humid with absolutely devastating UV factor... People don't even play golf there at that time..

Actually, I think if players can cope in the Melbourne heat, they should be able to cope in the Indian Wells heat. It's only 100 miles from LA, which never gets any hotter than Melbourne.

Re: This should be the ATP calendar

Cincinnati is held in the middle of the summer when it is extremely hot and humid in the mid west. Not Miami in August but it's ugly.

Any place that hasn't been able to support a TMS tourny attendance wise or give the players the support they need should be on the short list to be moved elsewhere.

And nobody cares about it in Germany, there is almost no TV coverage of the event.
I agree with you, something must happen with this TMS. Give it to a country which would actually enjoy it.

Re: This should be the ATP calendar

Indian Wells and Miami in August? Do you want kill the players? Indian Wells is in desert.

The calendar need change Aussie Open to March, more one week in grass, and make a downsizing in Summer's clay tournaments.

LUSO TÉNIS - Ténis português

FREDERICO GIL - RUI MACHADO - GASTÂO ELIAS - LEONARDO TAVARES
MICHELLE LARCHER DE BRITO - NEUZA SILVA - FREDERICA PIEDADE - MARIA JOÃO KOEHLER - MAGALI DE LATTRE

THE FUTURE
GASTÃO ELIAS
MICHELLE LARCHER DE BRITO

Here is my proposal:
Nice attempt but killing off the Spring US hardcourt season will go over as well as some people's willingness to kill off Autumn European indoors season. In other words, not ever.

Radical changes to Tour schedule over short period of time is pretty much close to impossible.

Oh come on! Try not to be sarcastic for a sec.
I'm sure that IW in July does not get much hotter than Melbourne in January. And anyway, America loves its night sessions so not all the action will be in the blistering heat.

I am not sarcastic at all. there is not much difference climate-wise between Death Valley and Indian Wells..Death Valley would just kill them a bit quicker, meaning it would torture them less.. I like them, I am sympathetic..

You know.. Sometimes people are arrogant.. Sometimes they are ignorant.. I can't tell you what's the case with you.. An average high temperature of Melbourne in January is mere 79F/26C, which is very nice and playable weather.. An average high temperature of July at Indian Wells is 107F/42C.. Do you even know what is it like?

Truc, maybe the press and TV doesn´t care, but the fans do The atmosphere and everything has changed very positive in the last years and there are always a lot of spectators who love to watch good tennis...
In my opinion, maybe just the date is not the perfect one for an outdoor tournament in Hamburg....

I have to defend this tourney, cos I live in Hamburg

Tommy Robredo David Ferrer Pere Riba Fernando Verdasco

Pico Monaco ~ Edu Schwank ~ Stan Wawrinka ~ Dani Gimeno ~ David Marrero ~ Marc Lopez ~ Marco Chiudinelli ~ Marcel Granollers

I miss you on tour, Nors, Bjösse, Simon & Pim Pim
