Did Acasuso retire?

Anyone knows more about him? He didn't play since RG, which is over two months and don't see him in any entry lists for the coming weeks either.
He had quite a decent comeback the first months of this year. Disappointing that he isn't following it up.

So anyone knows if he is injured or did retire?

He twitters a lot, but nothing about tennis in the last weeks...

Re: Did Acasuso retire?

There'd be an announcement if he retired. He is still recovering from injuries.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Did Acasuso retire?

Thanks for that.

Not really clear when he is planning to come back, but if he has another big injury I don't know if he will...

Truly it will be as sad as the day Alenka Bikar retired.

Stoner in a lot cases for him it's missed chances, but he had his moments.

I really don't know how much more he could have achieved to be honest. I suppose he could have won some more smaller tournaments but he never was going to win consistently at the highest level. I consider his game and style to a be a prototype for some guys like DelPo, Berdych, etc. He had a great serve and a good ground game for someone at his height. The difference is that he never moved as well as today's big buys and for this reason he wasn't really going to achieve much more than he did....well, losing that 2006 DC probably still haunts him.

I kinda liked Stoner, had wondered what happened to him, must be about a year since I've seen him play.

Re: Did Acasuso retire?

I miss his cameos in the clay seasons, when he makes a good run here or there. Very nice game to watch. It's a shame he never was fit or performed consistently.

Re: Did Acasuso retire?

Not officially. In this article from December, he says he is going to decide very soon whether or not to keep playing.
