Do you like the new courts 2 + 3 at Wimby?

I think they are nice, but for some reason I just think they look too modern for Wimby

Not really, they seem 'odd' in a way, just can't pick out how though.

I tend to focus on what the players are doing on the court rather that what the surroundings look like.

views of the court are fab on both. Better than number 1 imo you can be quite far up and still feel like you are right next to the court.

That view is the best. You can really see how far the balls travel and the way players serve better. Shame none of the top players play on those courts.

Re: Do you like the new courts 2 + 3 at Wimby?

I was at Court 2 yesterday, it was nice! I liked how the ordinary tickets got you right up close to the players, although I was lucky in getting good seats obviously. Only been able to get rather bad ones for other courts before. Some friends had seats on Court 3 and said they enjoyed it.

On the other hand, also went to Court 1 and it had a much better atmosphere, partly because it is a superior court obviously with more seats but I liked the shape. And CC is obviously unmatched in terms of prestige, etc.

Will Federer regain the #1 spot and break Sampras's record for most weeks at the top?

Roger // Rafa // Raonic // Söderling // Goffin // Ivo // Wawrinka // Baker // Delpo

Re: Do you like the new courts 2 + 3 at Wimby?

What's interesting is that Wimbledon was always a money making machine for the Committee, many businesses in the world must envy Wimbledon's ability to make money.

They've put the investment in by building Court no 2 but what it means is that they charge a premium to see matches there.

I first went to Wimbledon in 1995 on the 2nd Monday. The 2nd Monday was traditionally a good day to go because you were bound to see some of the best players in the world on outside courts like Court 13 (now defunkt). It seems its getting less and less likely to see world class players at Wimbledon for the price of the ground pass. By the way, the price of the ground pass at Wimbledon is considerably more expensive than at Roland Garros.

I thought the cost of tickets on court 2 was more than the ground pass admittance, am I mistaken?

Didn't they have Hawkeye on considerably more courts this year?? Or is it just my imagination. If so, that had to cost a bundle this year too..

court 2 and 3 both cost more than grounds passes. I paid for court 3 tickets so I didn't have to queue and spent most of the time on the outside courts actually because there were more good matches there.
