So much credit to Robin for this. That final game was a choke from Hewitt with the forehand errors, but Robin was down a break in the fifth, Hewitt had openings in all of the sets to take the match, but Robin held on, stayed mentally solid, and served big when behind. He earned this win, and this result should give him the belief to start to raise his game play.
As for Lleyton, he's proven he can play at this level, but the mental demons and lack of confidence and match fitness have cost him here like it did at the AO v Nalbandian. Hopefully he can stay healthy, he's still capable of threatening the best.
Hewitt played so well. Soderling did fight, but played pretty badly overall.. the wins what counts so grats.
So someone recently informed me that my sig was empty. Said I needed a life affirming motivational quote by a positive role model like Einstein or Oscar Wilde...
Great tip to stay fit and mobile: If you run up and down the stairs two steps at a time at least once daily, there will never come a time when you can't do it. Until of course one day you mistime a step, collapse and break all your bones... That would suck. But you had a good run.
Hewitt was once a mental giant, now a mental midget. Three times serving to stay in the set, 3 sets dropped. Only 1 break point saved if I recall correctly. Up a break in the fifth. Nearly broke my ******* tv!
He broke leading 5-4 in the last set.
Good stuff from Robin.
Great match, best of the tournament... But Tsonga-Dimitrov is exciting too.
You've proven to be the player with the biggest balls ever.
