Wimbledon R1: [8] Roddick def. [Q] A. Beck 6-4 7-6(6) 6-3

Efficient match. Andi Beck had a lead in the second set tiebreak, but he made A LOT of errors throughout. Came to the net a fair bit and was adequate. He has a lot of talent but grass isn't his best surface and he still needs to reign his game in.

Roddick served at 72%, hit 30 aces, and only lost 10 points on his first serve. Solid performance, nothing spectacular.

Roddick will NOT beat the top 3 with him chiping;slicing and blocking balls back.It WON'T work!

Can't believe Roddick just said on the TC that he "doesn't have to be good over a year but over a tournament" you are one of THE best not over a tournament but a ALL season you delusional jackass

I think Lopez or Rainer could take A-Rod out in the third round.

He's lucky that Beck started putting the ball everywhere but the court, because Beck's forehand was tearing him apart. That last shot summed up his last set especially. Efficient, yes, but also unconvincing.

The A++ Tier: Soderling | Raonic | Hewitt | Dolgopolov | Djokovic | Gasquet | Mahut
The A+ Tier: Murray | Kohlschreiber | Nishikori | Tsonga | Goffin | Berdych | Baghdatis | Karlovic | Baker
The A Tier: Del Potro | Youzhny | Ferrer | Tursunov | Malisse | Saville

Beck had a massive chance in the second.

Beck should've won the second but had too many errors. I actually expected Roddick to be a little rustier so I'm pleased he got through in straights, I think he'll raise his game a little bit.

Randomly nice handshake too BTW

Big serving, big slicing, little socks.

So someone recently informed me that my sig was empty. Said I needed a life affirming motivational quote by a positive role model like Einstein or Oscar Wilde...

Great tip to stay fit and mobile: If you run up and down the stairs two steps at a time at least once daily, there will never come a time when you can't do it. Until of course one day you mistime a step, collapse and break all your bones... That would suck. But you had a good run.

I don't see the point of your signature.

Nalbandian wasn't, neither was Henman. Right so, the point of my post was that I would prefer if he were to win the title that he do it beating top caliber opponents and not some journeyman. Although winning the title is winning the title and I'd take it no matter what because he deserves it regardless after years of being denied.

I just don't know what you are trying to get at. What's your point? How is what I said incorrect?

the USTA handed your boy the title by having Nalbandian and Ferrero who had a few 5 set matches play every goddamn day while Roddick was chilling in his room.It was a gift and that won't ever happen anymore!
It's good that you are also calling Roddick a pigeon since Federer whooped his ass in several finals
please do yourself a favor and do NOT answer me again

Thanks for the memories... Andy Roddick.
