Yes. His game is fairly limited but he's much better than the rest of his generation.

I have to say yes. Several slams actually. Not excited by the prospect but he is by far the best of his generation at the moment.

Re: Will Raonic win a grand slam in the future?

really depends on the post-92 generation. he's got a shot in about 3 years if the current juniors suck too.

Sure, I mean, who else is there? He is the leader of this new generation and that serve and his great attitude is going to nab him a few majors. Think US Open 2015, 2016, Australia 2016.

Djokovic and Murray will both be able to own him until they are about 33 and maybe 70% of their peak levels. By then, the next generation of GOATs will have appeared. So, in a word, NO.

Re: Will Raonic win a grand slam in the future?

You people relise that Djokovic and Murray are only 3 years older than Raonic? And Delpo only 2 years? Raonic is allmost allways put in the group with Tomic, but the difference between them is as big as between Delpo and Raonic. Novak, Andy and Juan will be there long enough to own him until he gets past his peak and starts getting owned by the younger guys. He can maybe be a 1-slam-wonder, 2 slams MAX, but he has to get on a much higher level and I don't see how bcs he doesn't have good enough return game and is not improving it to avoid close sets and tbs, and when you play as much tight matches, you are bound to lose 1 in a few (7?)...

Djokovic | Tipsarevic | Querrey

Re: Will Raonic win a grand slam in the future?

Sadly yes. Would rather players like Nishikori, Dimitrov etc. stepped up as they're more likely to maintain people's interest in the game, than serve machines like Milos, but once the top 4 are out of the picture these younger kids will start winning...

We still don't know what's Raonic max capacity .At the moment he has an epic serve.

Theoretically he will be able to develop a good ground game, because unlike Isner he is not too tall (equal to Berdych). If he somehow can lift his ground game to the level of Berdych, for example, he will become a deadly force to ANYONE.

I think he will. He definitely has to improve his movement and BH but he has time to do it.

Re: Will Raonic win a grand slam in the future?

Murray and Djokovic were winning MS at 21, and playing slam finals. He is only 3 year younger than these guys, and by 27-28 he will be washed up.

This.

People talk as if Raonic is 18/19. He is nearly 22, and yes he probably does still have his best years ahead of him, but his best achievements so far are slam 4th rounds and masters quarters. Nothing that special really.

Re: Will Raonic win a grand slam in the future?

It is fair to group Raonic with the likes of Dimitrov/Goffin/Harrison/ etc. No one thinks he's an 18 year old His experience at this level is closer to those 3 than to someone like Delpo/Cilic etc

Re: Will Raonic win a grand slam in the future?

David Ferrer ranked outside top 50 at 22.

Tsonga ranked top 50 at 22.

Berdych ranked top 15 at 21.

Roger Federer raked inside top 15 most of 2002(21).

Milos Raonic ranked top 15(currently no 14) at 21.

Time will tell. He will have a better career than Ferrer,Tsonga,Berdych for sure.
