Re: Eurosport Loses Roland Garros Tv rights

Apparently ITV won the rights in Britain ahead of BBC. Digital Spy also stated that Eurosport might secure pay-tv rights and I believe The Guardian also hinted about Eurosport.

Any news about the other countries?

Re: Eurosport Loses Roland Garros Tv rights

Eurosport showed too much WTA garbage.

Sky Sports hopefully get AO. ITV's going to be showing RG next year.

On the whole this is bad news. Oh well, at least I won't have to put up with John Lloyd.

Great idea, I think this is the way forward, the sponsors should pay, I'm sick of sky dominating sports coverage, forcing us to pay for their over priced service, means I have to go to the pub or my parents every time something must see is on sky sports and is too good to watch on a stream, I'm not paying £40 a month for something I watch a few times a week max, sports is the only time I watch the TV.

I think thats harsh, I prefer it by far to BBC, their champions league coverage alone wins the arguement. Plus they are good with the World cups and Euro's.

Any station whose football coverage has Clive "Mr Jingoistic" Tyldseley and Andy "State the obvious" Townsend is no good by me. I may be being more harsh than usual, being fresh off another abysmal effort covering an England international.

If we are to use their football coverage as a barometer, players from 5 downwards in the world rankings will be "plucky underdogs" and dismissed.

Sucks for me. If it's not eurosport it's going to be sporttv. The commentators are far far worse and only a few people actually pay for that channel. Really sucks form portuguese tennis fans.

I would pay for that just like I do with the ATP. No way I will pay the ridiculous amount sky charges for sports. Streaming here I come .
Your opinion on Rupert Murdoch seems to be guiding your opinion on Sky TV. The sports coverage is unrivalled. That being said, in the UK at least, it does seem to be particularly focussed on those who watch football, so if you don't like football then perhaps you wont feel as if you're getting as good value for money. If you do like football though, it's brilliant. I'm particularly impressed with their Champions League coverage where they show all 8 matches that night via the red button.

Eurosport is terrible. Half the time I watch it the programme that's on doesn't match what it shows on the planner. It almost gives me the kind of impression that they've got a sort of 'ad hoc' schedule whereby they switch to something else when they can be bothered to change it, even if that means cutting a programme off before it's finished.

Don't think i'd ever pay for TV via my computer - in my experience it's too laggy and the quality isn't as good. Plus my laptop screen is about a third of the size of my tv screen

I think townsend is a great pundit, but ITV is at it's worse when peter drury doing the games, He is the worse ever, then the coverage becomes digusting, he is the most cringe worthy, biased and stupid commentator I'v heard.
