Once you have show that you can beat a certain player (Fed), only limited addional info is gained by repeating it.
Consider this. He would only play Fed for one year and go undefeated, would that show that he is the best player ever.

Federer also has a freakishly dominant record vs left-handers. Rafa is simply beating the very best player in majority of his GS Finals.
