Is Novak feeling the pressure over the No.1 position?

Obviously we could see that the streak means nothing pressure wise, but going into tomorrow's clash against Roger knowing that a win will secure him a long awaited numero uno could prove to be something different. Biggest hurdle mentally he has faced in his career so far. How do you feel about this one? Feel free to discuss and exchange your thoughts...

No, if anything, he would feel more pressure to actually win RG, a major outside of AO.

#1 is something that I think he's determined to get, without pressure and I think he sees himself as the #1 anyway.

I somehow believe it will be tougher for him to make that step towards the no.1 than to eventual title on sunday. Now when he knows he can defeat rafa on clay, this is the only uncertainty left out there, the numero uno.

I think nothing out of the ordinary... if you are gunning for #1, you have to deal with the pressure, comes with the job.

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

Re: Is Novak feeling the pressure over the No.1 position?

yes

these 5 days off the court probly gave him a lot of time to fill his head with random thoughts about nadal, gluten, reaching the top spot, the RG title, federer, the media, uncle toni's new tactics, the serbians, etc. wouldn't be surprised if he plays a crap match tomorrow and loses. the pressure is that bad

or maybe not. i don't know

Re: Is Novak feeling the pressure over the No.1 position?

fed djok will be sf no.2

by then muzza would have taken the pig out, so nole will already be no.1

so , no pressure

QED, so lock the thread

Q. Do you think you would have been able to play as well as you played today, or you think you would have pulled out from the game if it wasn't the Masters Cup final?

ROGER FEDERER: No, Roger Federer doesn't pull out. Otherwise he doesn't walk on court (smiling).

After losing to Nalbandian in 2005 TMC final...

He's a bulldozer and bulldozers can't feel pressure. He'll destroy both Fed and Rafa.

Doubt so. #1 in the rankings is virtually secured and he knows it.
