Pablo Carreno-Busta wins first career challenger in Alessandria

Forget RG, there is a new star on the horizon.
Guy is having a great year so far, but this is the absolute high, where does it go?! At least to top 200 after RG.

Re: Pablo Carreno-Busta wins first career challenger in Alessandria

guy can surely play and next year we might see him in top 100

had 2 brainfarts in semis and in the final though
in the semis risked losing the final set from 5-0 up (6-4 in the end with BP saved in the last game)
today he served for it at 5-4, got broken, then broke again

Re: Pablo Carreno-Busta wins first career challenger in Alessandria

Saw some patches of his matches this week, and he looks to have a powerful game. Big serve, big groundies. And an attacking style, hits the net on lots of occassions. Looks like a welcome entry in the top 200.

With as little as he has to defend and how he's thus far played this season, I think he could make Australia direct. I'm a believer in his ability, but I'm not 100% sold yet in terms of the top of the game. He does have a good game, though, and a game that is translatable for other courts outside of clay.

Carreño is a good last name, good luck to him. Him and Martí should do it for spanish tennis.

Martí plays a lot like Gasquet, it's uncanny.

Fantastic year for Carreño. Now he's 39-10 and will reach top 200, climbed near 150 positions in 5 months

All power to the lad, can see him doing well at ATP level.

So someone recently informed me that my sig was empty. Said I needed a life affirming motivational quote by a positive role model like Einstein or Oscar Wilde...

Here's a tip. Don't regret nothin'. You ain't got the time. Before you know it, you'll be 60 something years old giving free advice to some cheapskate runt... Then going home and regretting it.
