WWW RG R4: Soderling (5) vs Simon (18)

Getting interesting for the 2-time finalist. Simon got the frenzied homecrowd and is a solid clay player.

H2H is 4-2 Soderling and he won the latest meeting 6-4, 6-0 but that was on the fast Paris indoor court.

With Nadull's unlimited luck, watch Simug winning and then bending over for Rafito in the QFs.

Delpo would have liked this draw, battling against mugs for QF spot and gaining more match toughness and confidence.

Should be a good match, Robin will thrive being the one dictating play. Up to Simon to match appropriate level of play.

Soderling in 5. I think Gilles could even make the upset here. H2H is more in Soderling's favor but just by looking at the way each guy plays, Simon is going to get many shots back and Soderling's going to dictate. But Robin is going to have a harder time dictating off of the deep flat shots that Simon can hit, they won't bounce in his strike zone as easily.

But I could be very wrong...Robin has showed he can play on the dirt here in Paris, so I fully expect him to win.

I have a hunch that this will be easier than expected. Soderling to be on fire or Simon to be below par.

Soderling in 4. Simon will get destroyed by Nadal so we can't have that .

Soderling in 4. The rematch with Rafa is imminent.

I just hope it won't be windy. That is the worst nightmare for Sod. Windy and then also the french crowd trying to throw him off serving on important points. Could get ugly! But I Robin can take it in 4.

I would have laughed out loud at that a year ago, but Gilles really has moulded himself into a solid clay player.

Soderling loves a high bouncing ball so he can just smash down winners, so Gilles needs to keep the ball low with his flat strokes and look to move it around and redirect Sod's pace. Should be a really interesting match.

I've been quite impressed with Robin on the big points so far though here, lets hope he continue like that.
