Are you enjoying the French Open right now?

I see such viciously negative posts at the conclusion of nearly every match these days, I have to wonder how many of you are enjoying the sport right now. This is the French Open, one of our slams yet there have been so many complaints about each result. What do you want to happen?

I certainly am! It's an interesting time More young talents than last year for sure.

Will Federer regain the #1 spot and break Sampras's record for most weeks at the top?

Roger // Rafa // Raonic // Söderling // Goffin // Ivo // Wawrinka // Baker // Delpo

Re: Are you enjoying the French Open right now?

When the seeds advance they say the slams are boring, when you have upsets, they say the slam is weak because the big names lost.

I feel sick from reading GM these days, really.

Re: Are you enjoying the French Open right now?

I get tired of seeing all the top seeds win (wish someone would step up), but I don't want to see any upsets either (because that would mean some mug got through).

But truthfully, no, I'm not enjoying tennis right now. They are still playing on clay.

No, its not real clay court tennis. The conditions are rewarding ball bashing.

People are never happy.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Are you enjoying the French Open right now?

Ish. It's not been the worst, Djoker-Del Pony early on is a good thing, and Rafito being very beatable by a half decent player is a juicy prospect.

Not as bad as other slams I've seen. At least the top players have been made to work so far (well chokes aside)

Re: Are you enjoying the French Open right now?

I feel sad about certain beloved favourites who appear to be beyond their prime (but hell, I know they have been 'there' for over six years, so no prob! ), but fortunately there are very promising youngsters stepping it up, too.

So yes, I am enjoying this RG - why not?
Or do certain people only enjoy a tournament when their favourite(s) is/are winning?

Re: Are you enjoying the French Open right now?

I am enjoying it. Murray and Wozniacki are still there. Federer, Soderling, Ferrer and Montanes are still there. Nadal is looking very, very, very beatable. Seeds falling everywhere. It's great, the best RG for a while. The only downside is that Djokovic might get the no.1 spot afterwards.

It's mediocre. But clay is my least favourite surface, so as soon as this slam is over, the better.

Nowhere near as good as 09 once Soderking did his bit. You didn't know who was going to win it that year after that.

Re: Are you enjoying the French Open right now?

I think it's a really interesting start. Some cool upsets already will Almagro and Berdych falling. Melzer too even if that was somewhat expected. Some qualifiers putting up fights just to choke a bit later. Always entertaining. All in all it's been fun so far and from R3-> it will only get more fun and a great match with Delpo vs Djoko tomorrow already

Nadal looks horrible so you got to wonder what will happen with him. Will he crash and burn? will he find his game?

Djokovic in domination mode.

Soderling in RG beast mode.

Murray with a wide open draw. Can he take advantage?

Monfils, Gasquet and Tsonga showing that the french can still dream.

Lots to follow!
