I only able to watch bits and pieces of this match because of a completely f*cked *p livestream
which kept on buffering 90% of the time (and of course Dutch TV didn't bother with broadcasting it at all, hey, what's new... tennis barely exists in my country.
Yes, a bit of a disappointment. I honestly thought Schoorel would have a chance, albeit a very small one, and at least I didn't expect such rather humiliating set scores.
I read that Schoorel felt very nervous about this match, and that after a decent start, he played much too passively, allowing Wawrinka to take controll in about every game. There's obviously still a lot of work to be done for Schoorel and his team, not at the least at the mental department - which seems to be a major problem with all of the Dutch players, except perhaps Haase.
But hey, what are we talking about? The fellow managed to climb some 900 ATP ranking spots in the past two years, and has entered the top-100 for the first time in his career! Not too shabby! Hope he manages to get a lot of positives from his run at RG (also won three qualification matches, nothing to sniff at), and keep on believing in yourself, Thomas!
Congrats to Wawa of course as well.
