Tuned into this one every once in a while. Youzhny playing some nice aggressive tennis, looked a real class above Kuku. I'd only seen Kuku twice before, once on clay against JCF, and it seemed like he was a much more aggressive/ballbashing style player in those ones I watched. He really didn't have anything on his shots today, really got no clue what his real style is.
We should be appreciative of Federer though, because we will never see anything like him again. The fact he can still compete for slams ever after the erosion of his physical skills is really a greater testament to the natural talent he has than the period of time when he was dominating the tour.
Misha was alright. Not great, but alright. He played a lot more aggressively today than he has been. Kuku has no game whatsoever, he's a mediocre player. Misha will need to be more consistent to beat Montanes but it's a good opportunity for him.
QQshkin never stood a chance here; Misha has a sick easy draw but he can get ripped by Fognini surely, and maybe also Montanes. Would be a pretty wasted chance as I doubt he'll get yet many in his career.
