RG R2: Ferrer def. Benneteau 6-3 6-4 6-2

Ferrer just way too solid from the baseline, good stuff. Very dangerous player in the draw.

Another very convincing victory for Pics.
One of the 'outsiders' for the title imho (and I wouldn't at all complain if he manages to get it).

Benneteau has basically nothing to hurt Ferrer with, apart from winning the excessive grunting contest.

Vamos! Another comfortable win. A lock for the QF, and then he has to do it against Fed.

Nice stuff, David. That's all your points defended, believe it or not. Definitely points will be gained after RG, whether they are 4th round, quarter-final or semi-final points remain to be seen. Monfils can be trouble, and then there's Federer. And then probably Djokovic if he gets that far.

LET'S GO!!
SLAMS: 3 TITLES, 8 finals, 9 semi-finals, 8 quarter-finals...
WORLD TOUR FINALS: 1 TITLE, 3 semi-finals...
MASTERS: 14 TITLES, 7 finals, 12 semi-finals, 18 quarter-finals...
OLYMPICS: 2 gold medals, 1 silver...
DAVIS CUP: 1 TITLE, 1 semi-final, 1 quarter-final...
WORLD #1: 2 weeks and counting...
MATCH WIN/LOSS: 630-174...
TITLES: 44 and counting...

Ferrer looking good so far.

I dont think he can win it though. QF exit I think.

Ferrer played very solid and his draw looks open until quarters.

Re: RG R2: Ferrer def. Benneteau 6-3 6-4 6-2

Benneteau was never going to be a huge test for David, but sounds like a good test for him in terms of playing someone who is a bit more consistent.

Pics looking good and should go deep here...but of course anything can happen like last year when he looked absolutely miserable against Melzer

Re: RG R2: Ferrer def. Benneteau 6-3 6-4 6-2

I thought Julien would counter-punch Ferrer more than he did and be more offensive, but Ferrer dictated almost all rallies throughout the match and didn't really allow it. I shouldn't be surprised. David looked comfortable throughout and played an aggressive and very effective match. Very impressive. He's definitely a major threat going forward in this event.

People here look surprised and suddenly say Ferrer is a threat now. He is the number three guy on clay, of course he is a major threat!
