RG R1: Darcis def. Llodra 6-7 (5) 6-3 6-3 6-3

Good result for Belgian, had chances to take this in 3 sets.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Llodra disappoints the French crowd. Great win for Steve!

Kinda funny, the match right above it in the scoreline with Stakhovsky was also a 6-7 6-3 6-3 6-3 but the TB score was different

A great win for the Belgian.

Darcis has talent, and I suppose clay didnt help Llodra to use his strategy.
Good win for the belgian, one of the best players outside top 100, maybe.

Yes, Steve! Great win, especially after the epic choke in the first set. Had *5-4 40-15 and lost it. Then in the 2nd he had 15-40 when serving for it at 5-3.

Kind of expected this win after good qualifying, but still very nice for the guy.

Served for the 1st set.

So predictable...it should have been a lot of easier but Steve had choked in 1st set

So? Does that automatically mean he would have won the next two? You're the philosopher normally.

Many qualies win their 1st round match they're used to the conditions get confidence, all depends on the opponent of course.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Great for Steve, annoying for Mika Could have gained some points here and finally make the top 20...

Great hold from 2-5 (15-40) down in the fourth though.

Re: RG R1: Darcis def. Llodra 6-7 (5) 6-3 6-3 6-3

Steve played a great match and really took away Mika's game by coming to the net himself, being aggressive and by being very effective with his passing shots and lobs. He really out strategized Llodra throughout the match and probably should have won in straights. Also served very well throughout the match. Now playing likely Picasso in R2, a great opportunity for an R3 and maybe even better at RG.

Steve has a lot of talent, it's all about staying healthy and staying motivated for him. Hopefully he can continue to shine and show his stuff in this event.
