Closer than it might look, pretty decent match from both.

Lopez was just horrible on the important points, specially that tiebreak.

It was more comfortable for Federer than I thought it would be.

Good for Federer, no big flaws in the game.

When I saw the draw I remember thinking ‘oh shit! This is going to be tough’…not so much

Solid match, but nothing special.

Lopez just didn't show up enough today, and TBH, looked pretty defeeated from the start. I did enjoy that BP he saved though, after turning round mid-point because he thought his mishit had gone out.

Good by Roger, but needs to improve if he wants to take on Ferrer and Djokovic.

Good 1st round from Fed against a dangerous opponent.

Need ideas for a new signature...

Federers serve was excellent, if he keeps that and elevates his ground game he will be a serious contender for the title.

Re: RG R1: Federer def. Lopez 6-3 6-4 7-6(3)

Very decent, solid showing from Federer, most importantly: no concentration lapses whatsoever. Everything seemed to be working for him today, including a few unbelievable shots from the master - backhand half-volley smash (if that's what it's called) for instance. Hope someone will upload that point to YouTube.
A lot easier than I expected, apparently Rog had learned not to underestimate Lopez. On to the next round, Fedsie!

The match was actually a lot closer than the numbers show. Lopez didn't at all play badly on about 95% of the points, just one sloppy serve game in both set #1 and #2, and an atrocious TB, sealed the deal for him.

Good job Roger, showing that fixed draws won't stop the GOAT Fine tune the game a little bit and you might get lucky with a weak Nadull and a tired Faker

Lalo`s return game was pathetic. 2 hour tennis match on clay and he couldnt create single breakpoint. Federer had lot easier 1.st round than expected.
