Roland Garros R1: Troicki def. Reister 6-4 6-3 6-3

Viktor hit 20 aces, was aggressive, returned well, and was simply the much better player on the day. Reister had his moments but not enough consistency and not enough firepower. He's now out of the top 130 (he was defending qualifier+R3 points), which is pretty much his true level, not top 100.

Congrats to Viktor on the first men's victory on day two.

Other than the net winners, too passive from Reister.

True, Reister played a passive match, and that's not usually his game. But a lot of that has to do with the depth Viktor was hitting his shots with, and how he was able to take the offensive off his serve. I was very impressed with his level today.

Troicki in Federer mode- just making a break and then tanking all points on opponent serve till end of set

Yeah, very sharp from Troicki. Not hard to be confident when you're firing down ace after ace after ace though, and almost no chance to be broken as a result.

Only switched to this match a few times. Viktor serving for the first set, 0-15, then he hits 2-3 aces all down the T. Checked in again to see Reister had 3 BP's, and Troicki hits an unreturnable, and fires 2-3 aces down the T again.

if he could just get rid of the gluten and become more consistent :P

He can generally play well when the opponent defends. Troicki will usually break down against an aggressive opponent that steps into the court (e.g. Tsonga). This is why he had that good stint against Nadal as well (forgot where it was when he lost 2:1).
A casual observation....

The People Who Brought You the Annual "Going Out of Business" Sale

20-something girl: So, I guess we are now officially corporate hos.
30-something man: Yeah, so now you have to learn to play tennis.
Girl passerby: What does that have to do with anything?
20-something girl: Then we can be corporate hos and tennis pros -- duh.
30-something man: We should do commercials... Why don't we work for an ad agency?!
