Are we seeing the rise of one season wonders now?

Federer was the only player to totally dominate seasons in the way we have never seen before, having 3 3 slam seasons and neally having one 4 slam season.

Rest of players usually have on and off seasons.

Are we seeing now the rise of players having one great season and thats it? Theres only one way to go from the very top and thats down, even if you still have a great year. With the modern tour ever more demanding we are seeing a very physical style of play that only keeps you at the top for a very short period i.e Hewitt.

Djokovic is doing it now, Nadal did it last year to a lesser extent.

"I did not play my best tennis, no? And..that is what enable him to win..to win this match no? "

- Rafael Nadal, ever so "humble", - press conference after shock 4 set loss to Robeen Soderling @ 2009 French Open 4th round.

2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009 was Roger's
2008 and 2010 was Rafa's
Novak is having a great season now

Who are the one season wonders you're referring to?

2015 nalbandian

Juan Martin Del Potro

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.
