If Nadal wins Rome, he will be back to #2 but just 30 more points than Federer. Nadal 10060, Federer 10030

Re: ATP Rankings Thread

If Roger wins Madrid, and Rafa wins Rome defeating Federer, and Djokovic gets bounced by Tomic:

11,210
10,060
10,030.

If Roger wins in Madrid, and does well in Rome - he will have his first shot at world number 1 at RG, even if he is still 3 by then.

Re: ATP Rankings Thread

The best scenario for RF would be if RN and ND both lose early in Rome. Then he'll have a huge opportunity to actually get to number one come Wimbledon.

If RF has to wait until the end, ND winning a final against RN would be funny. It would also be quite funny if ND then goes on to play RN in the SF of Garros.

Re: ATP Rankings Thread

No wonder Olderer has been raking points during "off" season/ playing many tourneys while Rafole were out. Very happy with the outcome.

Re: ATP Rankings Thread

swebright, you mean like Nadal raked inn points in MC and Barcelona while Fed was out?
The last 12 months Rafa and Fed has played a similar amount of tourneys, Rafa in fact one more than Fed. The #2 ranking will be very well deserved indeed, if he can find a way to beat Berdych tomorrow.

Looner, Fed have an excellent chance of #1 come Wimbledon, but if not there he could esily get it later - with very few points to defend from Rogers Cup and Cincinnatti and just an SF in US Open. If we look at points post US Open he has a commanding lead over Djokovic.

Why is Nadal calculated at 9060 this monday on 14/5/2012 ( i am not taking rome 10 points into account) ? Rafa is at 9615 ..so dropping rome(600) 9015 ...adding madrid 3r(90) 9105 ....that should be it 9105 on monday ...why 45 points extra have been reduced ????

Re: ATP Rankings Thread

Judio's list is for the RG seeding, 21st May not 14th. Rafa will have to drop his 18th result to add in this year's Rome points, on that date.

Queen's gets added on after Rome, I think. I don't the reason but currently it's uncountable so it's like additional points or sth.
