I would also like to see longest challenger, future streaks from last year or this year. There has got to be some players down there that have long win streaks.

Paradorn Srichaphan
Kei Nishikori, Donald Young, Somdev Devvarman, Dustin Brown, Steve Johnson, Yannick Maden
Robert Farah, Clement Reix, Alexander Dolgopolov, Nathan Thompson

I was just about to say that it would be great to see what events were won/participated in during the streaks, and I see that that particular info is in the article

Thanks for this. This was Ferrero's second longest winning streak after his 2001 run which I've added now. He won Barcelona, Rome and made the final of Hamburg that year for 16 straight wins. Shame he only just lost the Hamburg final (7-6(5) 7-5 in the 4th and 5th) or else it would've been a 22 streak.

Nice work, StatRacket

I also added Davydenko to the winning and losing streak tables. Davydenko has 2 x 10 match winning streaks, both of them coming from winning a small event before a Grand Slam and then having a good run in the Slam itself. This is a very common way of getting a career best run; David Ferrer, Fernando Verdasco, Stanislas Wawrinka, Mikhail Youzhny, Sam Querrey, Marin Cilic and John Isner all achieved their best streak in this way.

Davydenko also has a 9-match losing streak from 2003-04.

I think Hewitt went on a decent streak in 2001, won US Open, Tokyo and a Davis Cup tie - would have to be 14+ matches.

Edit: nvm, I see you've updated. Nice work!

Yep, 17 matches and his best streak so it's in the table. Made the semi-finals of Stuttgart as well before finally losing to Haas 2-6 6-3 6-4.

-edit- I've seen your edit lol

Thanks for this interesting thread

You should add Kohlschreiber - 9 straight defeats in 2005 (0-19 in sets)

stroke <- point <- game <- set <- MATCH -> round -> tournament -> season -> career
My favorite stats
Longest matches
Match points
Tie-breaks
Aces

And thank you for Kohlschreiber. That's one ugly run, and his draws weren't that bad either. He also got straight setted in Sunrise during the streak (but not included because it's a Challenger).

I'll also add his 8-match winning streak coming at the start of 2008. Yet another player with a warm-up event and Grand Slam winning streak (won Auckland, R16 Australian Open). Interesting that perhaps his biggest ever win, beating Roddick at Australian Open, came at the end of his best ever winning streak.

Thank you very much. I forgot to include Davydenko's WTF wins. I'll add Mathieu now. Mathieu was lucky to avoid the losing streak section. He lost 9 from 10 in a period in 2010 with his only win over a 504th ranked Lajovic at the World Team Championship.

Re: Longest winning and losing streaks of active players. Must be tour level and 8+

Stepanek 9 : '09 San Jose (5) + Memphis (4)
Raonic 9 : '11 San Jose (5) + Memphis (4)
Clement 9 : '03 Metz (5) + Lyon (4)
Schuettler 10 : '03 Tokyo (5) + Lyon (5) / 9 : '01 Shanghai (5) + Hong Kong (4)

Similar pattern, a title followed by a final.

^ Awesome! Interesting pattern. Also put Clement in the losing streak table; he lost 8 straight tour matches starting way back in the 90s. Raonic only 8 match streak due to the win by withdrawal being excluded.
