Charly the Panther played pretty well, I must say.

Berlocq did his best, had his chances, DF at the worst times tho.

Berdych had to work hard to beat The Legendary.

Re: No thread? Miami 3R. Berdych over Berlocq 7-6(8) 7-5

I enjoyed this match a lot, though one can't possibly claim that it was actually a good match.

Typical erratic stuff from Berdych (yes, I start believing that he does that sh*t on purpose for entertainment value), but very much okay at the net and it was nice to see his serve reappearing at the tail end of the 1st set.
Berlocq positively surprised me. If it weren't for massive choking at the most important moments (the classic DF on setpoint in the 1st set TB ), the match wouldn't have finished in two, even more, I think it could have been Berlocq's.

Thanks for the entertaiment, guys!

All of Berdych's matches have been epics as of late.

Saved SP at 5:6 in the TB with great volley, it's a tough combination to play a volley beneath the net in the next stroke after an overhead

Berlocq (I hate this surname) is a Miami legend since 2006 when he made a fool OF Young (6-0 6-0) only to lose two days later 0-6 0-6 to Blake

Berdych had about 3-4 sick volleys in this match.

Surprisingly tight match with some great stuff from Bercocq.

Tomaš is far from his summer 2010 level though...has to raise level or he will lose huge amount of points this year.

Re: No thread? Miami 3R. Berdych over Berlocq 7-6(8) 7-5

I'm really so impressed by Charly, I can't believe it but I'm beginning to become a fan of his. He's really improved dramatically. He was the better player in the first set and had a lot of chances in both sets, but just couldn't cross the finish line. Tomas wasn't as bad as some of you make it seem, he was inconsistent but not awful. He served well when he needed to and did very well in coming to the net to close off points and put pressure on Berlocq to make passing shots. Good win for Tomas. He will need to play better to beat Mayer.
