Well played by Capdeville, he lacked some physique and ended losing the important points (the BP conversion by Roddick must have been impressive).
Good win for Roddick, winning some confidence and time played in clay surface (considreing claycourt season is not too far). For Chile, well, we are officially back to moral triumphs.
Re: No Thread? Roddick defeats Capdeville, 3/6 7/6 /3 6/3. CHI 1-3 USA
Fish has got to be the 2nd singles player for the US against Spain, unless of course Isner and Querrey get there act together by that time and Fish loses his game.
I'm actually liking the USA's chances at the DC this year, if we can get past Spain. The Bryans are always a lock point and Andy is a good bet to beat Verdasco/Ferrer on hard courts. It would just come down to if Fish/Isner could upset Verdasco/Ferrer or if Andy could upset Nadal.
I also like our chances if Serbia makes the final. We get to host and we probably would have been able to win last year against Serbia on clay if Andy played. Fricking Isner could have easily beat Trocki but lost to him in 4 sets but then was able to take Nole to 5 sets. How does that even make sense? Anyways, we all know that Nole IS that team and Andy seems to have his number.
duck said he looked good in 2004.
he cried to his mommy about his hotel fire, threw away 3 match points against Verdasco in Rome, & wasted 17 break points in the Wimbledon final.
He limped out of Davis Cup to crash in Thailand vs. Federer. He wasted 3 match points against Federer in the 2006 End of Year round robin championships, as well as cried & dumped 2009 Wimbledon (after begging Federer to win the French Open).
Now he looks like his mom in a bald wig.
Hopefully Paul can build from this, de la Peña helped him a lot to recover some decent form in the recent months.
